Summer Lakes Community (summerlakes.community) is an independently operated neighborhood information website serving Summer Lakes in Rosenberg, Fort Bend County, Texas. This is an independently operated neighborhood information website and is not the official website of the Summer Lakes Homeowners Association, Lamar CISD, Fort Bend County, Fort Bend County MUD No. 144, or any homebuilder unless otherwise stated. This policy explains what information we collect through the site, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
We collect information directly from you only when you choose to give it to us:
Submitted content is reviewed by an administrator before anything is published; it is never published automatically. If you upload a photo through the site (for example, for a lost or found pet), that photo is stored on our hosting provider and becomes publicly accessible once the associated listing is published — please don't upload a photo unless you're comfortable with that.
When you submit a form, we briefly use your IP address to limit how many submissions can be made in a short period, as a spam-prevention measure. This check happens in memory and is not written to our database or retained afterward.
If Google Analytics is enabled on the site (see "Cookies & Analytics" below), it collects standard web-analytics information such as pages visited, general location (city/region level, not precise), device/browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We also record a small amount of first-party, non-identifying interaction data ourselves — for example, that a business spotlight card was clicked, or that a submission form was completed — to understand which parts of the site are useful. This first-party data is not linked to your name or contact information and is only visible to site administrators.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising retargeting or share it with data brokers.
This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand site traffic, when configured. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and is Google's own service, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings. If a real-estate listings widget is embedded on the Homes pages, its provider may also set its own cookies under its own privacy policy, separate from ours.

We keep newsletter subscriber information until you unsubscribe (a link is included in every email we send) or ask us to remove it. We keep submission records to maintain a history of what has been submitted and reviewed. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact information below.
If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives you additional rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of certain uses of it. You can exercise any of these rights using the contact information below.
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Data is stored with access controls that restrict who can read or modify it — administrator access requires an authenticated account, and most tables (like submission and subscriber records) are never readable by the public, only by our administrators. All traffic to this site is encrypted with HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately for the kind of data we collect.
We may update this policy from time to time as the site changes. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
